Summer Nights Live 2023 Events

The much anticipated Summer Nights Live concert series is scheduled to begin on Memorial Day Weekend, and includes the launch of the yet to be approved “River, Road & Rail - Art Trail or Art Adventure” (working titles) ($8m Art Trec across Delaware County with world- famous artists). These new dates and early release marketing schedule in late March should ensure best travel times for regional tourists and their families following college graduations, and in-line with summer vacation periods. We intend to launch the summer season with the noted Blues Brews & BBQ to ensure large crowds and out of county tourism to give them the dates for the whole season in pre-printed brochures.

This July we will celebrate in style with our 2nd annual “Field of Dreams” event for our Honest Eddie Murphy Sports Activities Scholarship and Student Field Days activities. The same weekend or memorial day weekend(TBD) we will host the NY Times for a once in a lifetime performance by Daniel Wurtzel. Wurtzel is a Brooklyn-based artist best known for his kinetic sculptures and installations using air and lightweight materials that fly. He has shown his artworks at the Musée Rodin, the Grand Palais in Paris, the Tate Modern Turbine Hall, the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, the Phillips Collection, Phaeno Science Center, and Kunsthall 3.14.  His Air Fountain is currently being shown alongside 187 Marc Chagall artworks in "Sonho de Amor" at CCBB in four Brazilian cities. Wurtzel's artworks are on permanent exhibition at Swiss Science Center Technorama, Copernicus Science Center, the World Expo in Astana, and the Museu do Amanhã in Rio de Janeiro. Wurtzel's work is featured on Broadway in Finding Neverland and with Cirque du Soleil in Amaluna. His paper tornado was center stage at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony in front of a worldwide audience.  Daniel has also worked with some of the world's most highly regarded theater directors including Julie Taymor, Diane Paulus, Robert Lepage, Zhang Yimou, and Michel Laprise.

The first weekend in August is not to be missed, as we are hosting 700 people in Hancock for the 2023 Quarry Run and 2nd annual Rock Block Party. No stranger to the festival scene, the headliners will be rocking out the crowds with a Rock Medley through the ages to entice tourists, motocross riders and locals alike. In September, we continue our Main Street Celebrations events on September 11th, as we take a moment to respect our troops, loved ones, and come together as NY’ers to celebrate all the hard work accomplished during the 2023 summer season. On September 16th, we are joined by the entire town and Pearly Baker’s Best. The band Pearly Baker’s Best is one of the finest “Grateful Dead” cover bands on the current market. We know this will appeal to more teenagers, and adults seeking to remember classic rock at its height. The goal of this signature event(back by popular demand)  is to get more families out on the streets, enjoying time together, and celebrating the town. As one of the only weekends before college is in full gear, and as camps come to a close, we want to end the summer season on a high note. We know this family-friendly event is going to be an amazing community festival that people talk about for years to come.
