Hancock, NY — At a recent meeting of the Hancock Rotary Club, Town Supervisor Jerry Vernold commended the organization’s ongoing commitment to youth engagement and civic service, while calling on new members to join and support its efforts.

The Rotary Club of Hancock has long been active in initiatives that strengthen the local community, including Clean Water projects, New Playgrounds, Senior Scholarships, RYLA Youth Leadership Forums, the Community Gardens & Hancock Hounds Dog Park just to name a few. These projects, Vernold emphasized, improve the town’s quality of life and also instill values of leadership and responsibility in Hancock’s younger generations.

“The strength of a small town lies in its people working together,” said Jerry Vernold - Town of Hancock Supervisor. “For nearly a hundred years the Hancock Rotary Club has set a shining example of service above self, and I encourage our neighbors—young and old alike—to get involved. Whether it’s just building community friendships, supporting youth leadership, or ensuring access to clean water, these are the efforts that leave a lasting impact on Hancock.”

Vernold’s remarks come as he prepares for the upcoming November election, where he will seek re-election as Town Supervisor on the Integrity and Conservative party lines. Vernold believes in leading by example, and Rotary is just one more way to give back to his community.

Community leaders praised his participation, noting that his presence underscored the importance of local government and civic organizations working hand-in-hand to foster opportunities for Hancock’s youth and to build stronger community connections.
